about

MOTHER OF THE BUDDHAS is the 2003 release from world music innovator and percussionist Kirby Shelstad. In this epic work, Kirby presents a musical offering of ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit texts in a rich and elaborate setting.. Includes 'The 21 Praises to Tara' and 'The Heart Sutra'. These long journey-like tracks mix elaborate multi-tracked chanting with deep earthy grooves for a result that is perfect for yoga, massage and relaxation. Kirby's music has been tapped by some of the top yoga teachers in the country for their videos and CDs, including Brian Kest's Power Yoga series, Erich Schiffmans yoga videos and Cyndi Lee's OM YOGA in a box.
